Pasta Bolognese

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 250g ground beef or pork
  • 2 cups Bolognese sauce TM SMACHNA KUHNYA
  • 1/2 cup water or broth
  • Salt & black pepper (to taste)
  • 250g pasta
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese
  • 2 tbsp fresh basil

METHOD OF PREPARATION:

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
  2. Add the pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente.
  3. Reserve 1/2 cup of pasta water before draining.
  4. Heat olive oil in a large pan over medium heat.
  5. Add onions and cook for 3–4 minutes until soft. Add garlic and sauté for 30 seconds.
  6. Add the ground meat and cook for 5–7 minutes, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned.
  7. Pour in the Bolognese sauce and stir well.
  8. Add water or broth (if needed) to adjust thickness.
  9. Simmer for 5–10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Season with salt & black pepper to taste.
  10. Add the drained pasta directly into the sauce.
  11. Stir well to coat every strand of pasta evenly.
  12. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit of reserved pasta water to loosen it.
  13. Divide the pasta into bowls.
  14. Sprinkle generously with grated cheese and fresh basil.
